Meet Our Team
Amanda Santos, Clinic Coordinator, Medical Aesthetics, & Laser Technician
Clinic Coordinator, Medical Aesthetics, & Laser Technician
Amanda Santos graduated from George Brown College School of Makeup and Esthetics in 1993 with honours. She continued her path in a medical direction at Mohawk College, gaining MLPAO/MLA/MLT Medical Technologist certifications with honours in 2009. As technology developed, she attended Chellsey Institute of Beauty & Health and earned certification in Advanced Medical Aesthetics and as a Laser Technician.
Amanda has worked in the medical industry since 2004 and at Kelso Lake Medical Centre since 2010. She loves looking after people and helping patients feel comfortable. Her goal is to help patients improve their confidence and feel great about themselves.
When asked how others would describe her personality, Amanda said that her patients have said she is kind, compassionate, loyal, and responsible.
Outside of work, Amanda loves her dogs, running, and yoga. She thoroughly enjoys reading and furthering her education, and has said she feels she will be a lifelong student.
Sujeewa Fonseka, MD FCFP
Medical Director
Dr. Sujeewa Fonseka achieved her Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in 1994. She continued her education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, earning her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2000. She completed her residency at Western University in Ontario in 2002. Dr. Fonseka has worked in many areas of family medicine. She has extensive in-hospital experience, including general care, emergency room, and labour and delivery. Dr. Fonseka has also spent time caring for elderly patients in nursing homes.
She has spent time in psychotherapy, and, most recently, evolved her skills to involve medical aesthetics. Dr. Fonseka is motivated by results and enjoys helping patients improve their lives through expert coaching and treatments.
When asked how Dr. Fonseka would describe her personality, she said that she is an INTJ on the Myers-Briggs personality test. INTJ’s are described as “The Architect,” and are introverted, intuitive, and love examining the “big picture.” Outside of work, Dr. Fonseka loves to travel. She has lived on 3 different continents and enjoys spending her time in nature. Her favourite activities are hiking, kayaking, and canoeing.
