Leveraging Your Body’s Natural Healing Response

Some of the best beauty solutions come from entirely natural sources. We use PRP, or platelet-rich-plasma, to help restore and rejuvenate your body. By harnessing your own body’s platelets, you can unlock a healthier and more youthful appearance.

What Is PRP?

Blood is made of 4 major components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma (the liquid that carries the other 3 components around).

When you remove all of the red and white blood cells from a blood sample, you’re left with PRP. Platelets play an important role in the natural healing process. When PRP is applied or injected in certain areas, it can trigger your body’s healing response, potentially repairing or restoring damaged tissues and cells.

What Can PRP Do For Me?

PRP may be an effective hair restoration treatment for some types of hair loss. When PRP is injected into the scalp, the platelets may help re-open damaged hair follicles, promoting thicker and denser hair growth.

PRP may be an effective treatment to reduce the appearance of scars and improve overall complexion. Providers will often start by micro-needling the treatment area to stimulate collagen production. When PRP is applied, the platelets may stimulate the healing process and aid in the creation of new, undamaged skin cells.

PRP may accelerate healing for chronic joint and muscle injuries. When PRP is injected into the injury site, the platelets may help decrease swelling, increase healing speed, and limit recovery time.

What Can I Expect From My PRP Treatments?

Your PRP appointments, recovery times, and results will vary depending on the type of treatment you’re seeking. When you visit us for a consultation, we will discuss your goals, determine whether PRP is the right course of treatment, and let you know what kind of results you can expect.

Although results and applications will differ, your treatment appointments will typically start the same way.

We will start by drawing a small amount of blood. Using a centrifuge, we will separate the PRP from the other blood components. Preparing the plasma will take approximately 10 minutes, so please feel free to bring a book to read in the meantime.

Once the PRP is ready, we will proceed to the application, the specifics of which will depend on the treatment you are receiving.
